Hot August Nights Gears Up for Volunteer Recruitment Event
Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the National Automobile Museum
RENO, Nevada (Jan. 20, 2025) – Car and event enthusiasts interested in being a “driving” force behind the world’s largest nostalgic car show — Hot August Nights — are invited to its annual volunteer member recruitment fair Thursday, Feb. 6 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the National Automobile Museum, 1 Museum Dr., Reno, Nevada.
Hot August Nights, a 10-day celebration of classic cars and rock-and-roll nostalgia, relies on the dedication of its volunteer members. With 6,000 registered vehicles and over 500,000 attendees expected to descend upon Northern Nevada in 2025, this iconic event can only operate with the support of about 200 year-round volunteer members — a number that more than doubles during the event itself.
“Hot August Nights thrives because of the dedication and passion of our volunteers,” said Deny Dotson, executive director of Hot August Nights. “They play an essential role in creating the magic of Hot August Nights — from our Show-n-Shines to nightly cruises to Hot August Nights Foundation events and everything in between. We are looking for more than 100 new volunteers to ensure every aspect of our massive event runs smoothly.”
Volunteer Recruitment Event Details
What: Hot August Nights Volunteer Member Recruitment Fair
When: Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Where: National Automobile Museum, 1 Museum Dr., Reno, NV
The event is similar to a fair, where representatives from all 13 Hot August Nights committees are on hand to explain the various roles, benefits and encourage sign-ups. The committees include: Car Events, Check-in, Drag Races, Entertainment, Operations, Event Series & Awards, Finance, Foundation, The Garage, Hospitality, Info & Activities, Merchandise and Member Services. Attendees can explore which committee best matches their interests and gain insight into the requirements.
For the $40 volunteer membership fee, receive benefits from exclusive perks such as invitations to elaborate member parties, a polo shirt, hat or visor, a volunteer member pin, souvenirs and credentials, as well as the opportunity to make new friends and be part of the region’s largest event. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and must commit to work a minimum of 16 hours during the event.
