Built on Classics, Powered by Volunteers
For four decades, Hot August Nights has been more than just one of the world’s largest nostalgic car shows—it’s been a celebration of America’s love affair with classic cars and
rock ’n’ roll.
Since 1986, Hot August Nights has grown into an event recognized around the globe, yet our mission has never changed: to honor timeless music, showcase incredible automobiles, and bring our community together.
And none of this would be possible without the dedication, passion, and countless hours given by our volunteers. From setting the stage to keeping the engines revving, it’s the hundreds of community members who make Hot August Nights truly shine.
For the past 39 years, Reno, Sparks, Virginia City and Lake Tahoe have been home to this one-of-a-kind event—a tradition built by the community, for the community. Together, we’ve created a celebration that’s as enduring as the chrome on a ’57 Chevy and as timeless as a rock ’n’ roll anthem.
On behalf of the entire Hot August Nights Board of Directors, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every volunteer, participant, sponsor, and supporter who has made these past 39 years possible. Your commitment, passion, and dedication have kept this event rolling strong and ensured that Hot August Nights remains the world’s premier nostalgic car event. As we enter into our 40th Anniversary, here’s to the next 40 years of unforgettable memories, shining chrome, and rock ’n’ roll under the Nevada sky.
